Art all Night is planned for September 24th-25th. With art activations all over the city, art galleries and exhibits are open late. They also showed documentaries and hosted other events. Most events are free. I attended this event a few years ago and had a good time! Shaw, the Parks, Tenleytown and Uptown are some of the neighborhoods I would suggest hitting. Be sure to check the event calendars for each night to plan out your night. Adams Morgan Day Festival is taking place Sunday Sept 12th from 12pm-7pm. A full day of events are plan to celebrate the historic neighborhood of Adams Morgan. Known for its bars and restaurants, Adams Morgan is a popular part of the city. Not ready to join in on the fun in person? No worries, a lot of events will be hosted virtually as well. I’m down for this Drag Queen Storytime. Sounds like fun.
Saturday I attended Celebrez en Rosé. It was a Rosé picnic at the National Harbor. I love to see people all dressed up and having a good time. The event offered 3 different ticket packages. I purchased the wine package which included a bottle of Rosé, souvenir wine glass and picnic blanket. I was a little annoyed that I had to stand in the regular bar line to pick up my wine package. The lines were really long and moved extremely slow. There should have been a separate line for this. That was the whole point of purchasing my wine bottle in advance. This was really my only complaint. I otherwise enjoyed the event. There were cute little photo installments through out.
My friend Tasha recently hosted a Bombay Bramble Networking Brunch at Spritz by Serenata. Believe or not, I’m not a big networker, I just so happen to know a lot of people. Lol. I actually enjoyed networking and talking to people that I didn’t know. It was so dope to be surrounded by so many successful black women. If you haven’t tried Bombay Bramble, definitely grab a bottle. I enjoyed the DC Bramble which is Bramble, lemonade and tonic water.
Summer Restaurant Week is August 9-15th. It is literally my favorite week of the year. Gather the girls, get dressed up and hit some of DC's best restaurants to enjoy a 3 course meal for $35 to $55. I mean...what's not to love?
Alright, so here's my top 5 list of places (in no particular order) that are participating in restaurant week to check out. I may add a few honorable mentions as well.
