You already know Artechouse is a favorite. I've featured this location on the blog several times. I love immersive experiences and they change their installation every couple of months. Their newest installation is Pixelbloom which is a cherry blossom theme. You know how DC is this time of year...everything is about the cherry blossoms. I enjoyed this installation. The art and music definitely brings about a sense of serenity. I am also very happy that their bar is open again. Definitely recommend one of their interactive craft cocktails. If you download the Artechouse, the 3-D technology brings your drink to life. Tix are $25 and can be purchased at artechouse.com. Insider tip: They offer a $5 discount for DMV residents.
Location: 1238 Maryland Ave, SW There is limited street parking, but the Oriental parking garage is available or public parking.

The Hirshhorn recently acquired 2 infinity rooms from the infamous artist Yayoi Kusama and they are finally ready to be on display. Yayoi Kusama exhibit at the Hirshhorn is finally opening to the public on April 1st. Same day timed passes will be made available starting at 9:30am. I was able to preview the exhibit in December with my museum membership. If you visited the museum the last time the artist was featured, then you can expect the lines for passes to be long but if you are a fan of her work then it is worth it.
Artechouse is back with a new exhibit called Life of a Neuron. The immersive exhibit allows you to experience a neuron from pre-birth to death. This exhibit will be featured through November 28th. Tix are available here: https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/artechouse/items/325866/calendar/2021/09/?full-items=yes&back=https://www.artechouse.com/program/life-of-a-neuron/
Ok, so these selfie museums are becoming a real thing. They are literally popping up all over the DMV. Selfie Wrld NOVA was super dope and I can attest to that, but here are a few more to check out. Vybe Selfie Museum

Artechouse is one of my favorite art installations. I love the interactive installations and augmented reality. Not to mention....the bar. Duh! What other museum features drinks while you peruse?? Anyways, I'm so happy they are open again! Their new installation "Renewal 2121" starts March 15th inspired by the Cherry Blossom Festival. If you've spent spring in DC, you know the Cherry Blossom theme takes over but after being on quarantine last spring, I'm here for it. Finally grabbed some tickets and was able to go this week. It did not disappoint. The futuristic Japanese Cherry Blossom theme was fire! Just note, the bar is temporarily closed due to Covid :( but had a great time nonetheless. Location: Artechouse 1238 Maryland Ave, SW Hours Monday – Thursday 10AM – 9PM Friday – Sunday 10AM – 10PM Ticket Prices Range from $17-$24 Update: discounted tickets are available on Travelzoo
